The outer fabric is a durable, wind-resistant cotton grosgrain fabric, similar to that found in 1940s US Navy deck jackets, that has been "oiled." The oiled finish not only enhances the texture, but also gives the garment a deep navy color. This is an original fabric created specifically for this purpose. The lining is made of yarn-dyed wool boa. The tightly woven construction and wash finish create a vintage look, achieving both warmth and a luxurious texture. Crafted from luxurious 100% wool boa fabric, this jacket is soft to the touch, rather than synthetic fibers. The lining of the hood and around the neck are made of corduroy from Brisbane Moss, a venerable British fabric manufacturer. In addition, the buttons are smaller and more elegant than the parachute buttons characteristic of Canadian military wear, with genuine buffalo buttons for a more classic look. Based on vintage military wear, this piece features Arch-inspired updates throughout, resulting in a basic yet unique piece.
